Hickory Horned Devil
Here is an unusual sight. These were taken right here in Southern Indiana just about a month ago. The “caterpillar” you see is a Hickory Horned Devil. This one dug a tunnel into the ground and will overwinter there until emerging as a Royal Walnut Moth or Regal Moth.
